What started as a film exploring the experiences of pregnant women in Kenya rapidly became a historical journey into the shocking cruelty suffered by some Irish women during childbirth in the 1950's and 1960's.
Symphysiotomies involved breaking the woman’s pelvis during childbirth - using a hacksaw. This break would enable the pelvis to be stretched wider - with disastrous consequences for the mothers. Survivors of Symphysiotomy (SOS) are a group of women campaigning for recognition of their suffering and disability through this procedure - they live in constant pain, walk with a permanent limp, suffer chronic back pain and incontinence.Read More

'Dry January' is your chance to feel better, save money and make a difference to your pelvic floor too. That’s right - laying off the booze (at least for January) will not only help reduce your waistline and save you pennies – but also help your pelvic floor too.

Trick or Treat? Someone tell that girl that wetting yourself on TV when you laugh is not 'normal' and actually it’s a sign of a weak pelvic floor. Of course wetting yourself when you laugh also means less intimate sensation too (both for the woman and her partner) - so that’s certainly not glamorous. We've tweeted Nicola and offered her a Kegel8 Ultra so she can get back in shape and control her light adult incontinence then she can be as 'tight and toned' inside as she looks outside!Read More

Pure, White and Deadly by Professor John Yudkin arrived through my door, demand was so great that publishers bought it back into print after the recent BBC programme 'The Men Who Made Us Fat'.
