What are Vaginal Cones?

Vaginal cones - also known as vaginal weights - are small cone like devices to help with pelvic floor exercises. They can be different sizes and different weight to allow the user the opportunity to progress with a pelvic floor exercise plan by increasing the weight and decreasing the size of cone so the muscle have to work harder to hold or retain the cone inside the vagina.

Pelvic floor exercises using vaginal cones or weights is called progressive resistance exercise or progressive resistance training. Initially the cone is inserted into the vagina and once it can be retained for between 5 - 10 minutes the next heavier cone is then used.

Pelvic floor exercise or Kegel exercising using vaginal weighted cones has been clinically proven to work the muscles more effectively than simple 'squeeze and lift' exercises, because the cones offer 'resistance' - something the muscles can squeeze against.
