The Kegel8 menstrual or period cup allows for more time between emptying, especially on light days. Using a menstrual cup prevents the need to carry extra pads or tampons, which many women find burdensome and even embarrassing. Unlike tampons, the menstrual cup can be inserted around the time of an expected period, to avoid first-day leakage. Cheaper than using tampons or pads it is estimated that a menstrual cup can save £1177 over 10 years! Use reduces irritation and vaginal dryness AND less mess and odour. Easy to remove, this menstrual cup is leak free while sleeping and super soft for comfort and security.

Used this for first time, ...
Review by By any means
Used this for first time, no real issue with insertion but I was home for the first day and not so heavy, I am curious how other women, who have a heavy bleeding manage this in the work place. I had problems taking out and reinserting it just was not simple, I also found the tag to pull fiddly and would prefer a circle to pull down. Good points no odour during cycle, cleaner, more secure.

It’s changed my life! Anyone that’s thinking of switching, do it’s the best
Review by Keebob
Hi lovelies, honestly the best thing ever!
I’ve just done my 1st cycle using a cup.
I’ve never felt as clean, never used anything as simple/comfortable.
I generally have a 4day bleed day two being the heaviest, with tampons I always leaked at some point.
With the cup, No leaks unless it wasn’t ‘in’ correctly you can feel it like you can a tampon, and feel wet. But it still gathered some fluid, I’ve slept using it, there been no period smell,no clots, no feeling oh no I’ve flooded!
And strangely no cramps! At all!
Using the cup, my experience I find that to insert the cup you need to crouch more than you do for a tampon. To remove crouch again use two fingers to pinch the base of the cup, then bear down. Easy as. I’m 34 years old and haven’t given birth. Using size A.

Menstrual cup
Review by CHA-NEL
I purchased both the A and the B as I feel that the B cup will offer ore night-time collection as I have REALLY heavy periods.
So far so good, easy to use, but carry a bottle of water in the loo with you to rinse it before reinserting.

Brilliant!
Review by Converted!
I had heard of these cups years ago and was quite repulsed by the idea. I however decided to try it out recently and I’m over the moon with the cup! It was a bit of a fiddle to get used to in the beginning, I wore a pad just in case of leaks for the first few days. By the end of my period I had it down to a fine art! It’s so much cleaner, safer and economical than pads or tampons. I don’t feel so unclean as I did with pads when on my period now . It’s amazing and I’m also telling all my friends about it!!

great for camping and outdoors
Review by dodgy
There are a lot of advantages to this cup, which I discovered when I took it on a camping trip. I had to do a six hour climb up a mountain in Wales, on the first day of my period. Came back, and despite my heavy cramps, it was only half full, and I could tip the blood away in the bushes. The cup got me through three heavy days of camping (and cramping) without me having to burn through pads or panty liners (I wear a panty liner to bed with the cup). I found the silicon of the cup to be soft, and as such, easy to fold and push in, as well as easy to take out and dispose.

With this cup and camping, my sanitary waste reduced by 95% (I keep the odd pad around), and I'm grateful.

The reasons why the cup doesn't get five stars is that I had to trim off the wick (it irritated my vagina), and the softness of the silicone means that it can work itself out of the canal whilst you're doing a bowel movement. Also, around the fourth day, when my period is relatively light, it's slightly more difficult to fish out with fingers (again, because I had to cut the irritating stem).

That being said, I do appreciate the freedom that this cup gave me whilst camping. I was able to go about my business for six hours and not have to worry about changing tampons or pads with the dreaded bleed through. And I've saved so much space in my toiletry bag. Also, I appreciated the softness of the material, because I've used other cups with harder, thicker material that haven't been as comfortable.

Shame about the irritant tab though.

Environmentally friendly and bank-balance friendly. Works for me!
Review by Sara P
I wasn't sure I'd be able to get along with this after I first tried it, I was scared of not getting it in place. However this is my 3rd period and I am now an expert and trying to convince as many women as possible to change. I can't believe that I can go all day without changing, No wet string and the compulsion to change a tampon because the string is wet with wee. Sports and gym visits are a no-brainer and I literally forget I have my period without any annoyingly uncomfortable tampons to remind me! I feel cleaner and more able to handle my period which can be really really heavy as I suffer with endometriosis. I've worked out I should save over £100 in a year as I was spending in excess of £12 - £15 per month on tampons.
Environmentally friendly and bank-balance friendly. Works for me!

Never using tampons again
Review by Kathryn
I'm trying to convince every woman I know to switch to a menstrual cup!! They're so much better than pads or tampons.

This cup is just as good as moon cup (which I had before and sadly lost it) but cheaper. Love the little pouch it comes with too. Awesome, would recommend!

Fantastic product, delighted!
Review by Cup lover
I’m going to write a really thorough review because reading reviews of other menstrual cups really helped me choose the right one, so I hope this review helps you too!
I have size A. I have given birth, but it was via C-section with no pushing involved at all, so everything ‘down there’ stayed intact (woo hoo!). I’m 34 and average height and build, not overweight but absolutely not skinny. My pelvic floor is strong, I have no signs of any weaknesses down there so I thought the size A would be fine for me, happy to report, it is! In fact, it’s changed my bloody life. Yes, that’s right, life changing. I didn’t know how much I hated tampons until I started using a menstrual cup. Your period can feel pretty gross but using this cup everything feels clean as a whistle. It took a bit of getting used to getting it ‘in’ – I use the C fold technique (google it if you’re not sure!). You might want to rinse it with a bit of water first to make it easier to insert. Once inserted, you can have a feel to make sure the sides have popped open, if not you can give it a little prod wherever needed to get it opened up fully. Unbelievably you can’t feel it in there, like, AT ALL. If you can, it’s either not inserted properly (could be tilted maybe?) or it’s not in far enough…so maybe give it a bit of a push at the stem so it goes in a little further.
I left mine the first time for around 8 hours and when I removed it in was only about a quarter full. The next time I left it 12 hours and it was less than half full, bloody marvellous. My periods are light and only last around 3 days but based on the amount this cup held over 12 hours, I’d say even if you have quite heavy periods, you’re going to get at least 6-8 hours protection before you need to remove and empty your cup. The cup removes easily with a pull of the stem, just make sure you’re relaxed (natural reaction is to tense up). The best thing about using a menstrual cup for me is not needing to remove it for 12 whole hours. You can go the loo (even a number 2 won’t dislodge this bad boy – sorry I know that’s too much info), shower, go swimming or bathe without that horrible damp string making everything feel minging down there afterwards. Also, no more night time leaks or waking up faced with a scene from a Stephen King novel. Because it’s body safe I wear mine at night in the couple of days before my period starts to be safe, you can’t do that with tampons obviously. Really chuffed not to have to spend good gin money on tampons anymore too. I’m converted for life, it’s fab!
