- Retirement was almost ruined for JS when she developed a prolapse – her doctor told her nothing could be done to help!
- After 12 weeks with her Kegel8 Ultra 20 her prolapse has vastly improved and she’s able to do the things she loves again.
- JS used the Kegel8 Ultra 20 to get these results.
We all know when something is wrong with our body - don't we? I had just retired from my consultancy business and was looking forward to having time to do all sorts of things. I started with the garden, helping my husband by digging, lifting compost bags, etc. when I started feeling a dragging sensation below.
Putting this down to lack of exercise I carried on, but then I felt a bulge. After an initial panic I decided to do the full Ostrich act and bury my head in the sand until my cervical smear was due and I knew I could not prevaricate any longer.
I cannot describe how it made me feel. It hit me both mentally and physically. In my field you need to be confident and self-assured and I lost that. It made me feel uncomfortable all day. More importantly, I felt less of a woman. I woke at 6am and by 9.45 it had descended. Gravity is definitely not your friend.
I explained my situation to the senior practice nurse who completed my smear and booked me in to see a GP who specialises in gynae-related issues. He explained that I had an anterior prolapse and there was nothing to be done. Having done some research prior to the appointment I asked about pelvic toners. He was non-committal and the nurse was sceptical. I came home and talked it through with my husband and we got straight on to the internet to do further research. That's when we found Kegel8.
My Kegel8 journey
It was then that I purchased the Kegel8 Tight & Tone. I made a mistake - I should have contacted customer services. Daft as it seems now, I was embarrassed. Not by buying one but by the fact that I knew so little about my own body, This seems ridiculous now! Although things improved slightly, the more research I did I realised I needed the Kegel8 Ultra 20.
So I purchased the Ultra20 and started the programme for prolapse. I am just at 12 weeks and I cannot tell you the difference this had made!
My life is getting back to normal. I walk the dogs, clean out the hens, go shopping and have just started Nordic Walking (although I'm still trying to perfect the technique!). I now need to move to the maintenance programme which is the next big step.
Being diagnosed with a prolapse hit me mentally and physically ... I felt less of a woman
There are some things you need to prepare for. The programme may not go perfectly and when the information says everyone is an individual and things may vary it is exactly that. You are an individual and bodies react differently. So be patient and kind with yourself.
My next step is to lose the weight I have gained as it does not help. However when I'm low food is a source of comfort and lack of exercise completes the vicious circle. This circle is now becoming a virtuous one as I gain control of all aspects of my life.
The Ultra20 is a bit fiddly to start with and it takes commitment. My challenge to you is that you now have a choice. To paraphrase a friend of mine (a fitness trainer) : Living with a prolapse is hard, commitment to the Kegel8 programme is hard - which hard do you want to choose? I made my choice, thankfully.
