What is Endometriosis?

In every woman’s womb, they have a lining of endometrial cells; when a woman has Endometriosis, these endometrial cells migrate from the womb to other locations of the body such as the fallopian tubes, ovaries and pelvic organs. These migrated endometrial cells work in the same way as the endometrial cells found inside the womb; they build up, break down and bleed. This causes excruciating pain, incredibly heavy periods, bowel problems, depression, fatigue and also infertility. This is because the endometriosis cells inflame, causing pain and forms scar tissue on the affected areas. Endometriosis is often misdiagnosed and it has been averaged out to 7 years for a woman to find out that she has Endometriosis and it can affect any woman of childbearing age.
