Fesoterodine (brand name Toviaz) is a prescription medication formulated to treat over-active bladder. OAB is where the bladder muscles contract uncontrollably thereby causing frequent urination, urgency and bladder leaks. Fesoterodine is an antimuscarinic drug - they work to relax the bladder muscles to prevent frequent, urgent, or uncontrolled urination.

Fesoterodine Side Effects

As with all medications you could suffer with side effects. Some well-known side effects of antimuscarinic drugs include a dry mouth leading to difficulty in swallowing. thirst, pupil dilation, blurred vision and sensitivity to light, hot flushed skin, dry skin, urinary retention and constipation. Constipation is very detrimental to the pelvic floor, because straining puts extra pressure on an already weak pelvic floor and should be avoided at all costs.
