What Does Sacrospinous Fixation Surgery Involve?

This type of prolapse surgery involves placing one or two stitches deep inside the body, to attach the cervix and/or vagina to the sacrospinous ligament in order to support these pelvic organs and treat the prolapse.

Although the surgical outcomes of Sacrospinous Fixation are good, it is estimated that 30% of women who have undergone surgery for prolapse will need further prolapse surgery at some point in their lives.
