Skin that is regularly exposed to urine or faecal incontinence breaks down faster than most people realise — moisture, changing pH, and friction from pads or continence wear can quickly lead to soreness, redness, and irritation known clinically as incontinence-associated dermatitis. Osalis Ultimate Fullers Earth Cream is a zinc oxide barrier cream designed to protect, soothe, and support skin that needs real, daily protection.
A mineral-rich formula combining zinc oxide, bentonite clay, and kaolin — three ingredients each doing genuine, distinct work to protect compromised skin.
Zinc oxide — a genuine barrier, not just a moisturiser
Zinc oxide forms a physical barrier on the skin's surface, protecting it from prolonged contact with moisture, urine, or stool. This is the same principle used in trusted nappy rash creams — and incontinence-associated dermatitis is, clinically, a very similar condition to nappy rash. By preventing moisture and irritants from reaching the skin directly, zinc oxide helps prevent breakdown before it starts, rather than simply treating soreness once it has already developed.
How the formula works
| Ingredient | Role |
| Zinc oxide | Forms a protective barrier on the skin's surface, shielding it from prolonged exposure to moisture and irritants. Helps prevent water and moisture loss, supporting skin integrity over repeated use. |
| Bentonite clay | Absorbs excess moisture and has natural antiseptic properties — particularly useful for skin under pads or in skin folds, where trapped moisture is a primary cause of breakdown. |
| Kaolin | A gentle absorbent clay that draws excess moisture and impurities away from the skin surface without stripping or irritating already sensitive or compromised tissue. |
What it's used for
| Use | Detail |
| Incontinence-associated dermatitis | Daily protection for skin exposed to urinary or faecal incontinence. Apply after cleansing and drying the skin, before continence wear. |
| Haemorrhoid and anorectal soothing | A gentler option for soothing piles and anorectal itching. For more targeted haemorrhoid treatment, see our Hemorrelax range, which addresses the condition more directly. |
| Minor skin irritation | Soothes general skin soreness, chafing, and minor irritation, particularly in skin folds or areas under sustained pressure or moisture. |
How to use
Cleanse and gently dry the skin. Apply a thin, even layer of cream to the affected area. For incontinence care, apply before fitting continence pads or wear, and reapply as needed after each change.
For external use only. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. If skin breakdown is severe or does not improve, consult your GP or continence nurse specialist. Keep out of reach of children.
