Haemorrhoids — or piles — and anal fissures are more common than most people realise, and more connected to pelvic floor health than is widely understood. Straining, constipation, increased intra-abdominal pressure, and post-surgical recovery can all contribute to or worsen rectal discomfort. Hemorrelax Haemorrhoid Suppositories offer targeted, direct relief — delivered precisely where it is needed, with a formula that goes well beyond conventional treatments.
10 suppositories per pack. MDR certified medical device (EU 2017/745). Made in Switzerland.
The botulinum toxin-like effect — what makes Hemorrelax different
Hemorrelax contains two advanced biotechnological peptides — Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 and Pentapeptide-18 — that act on the anal sphincter in a way that is clinically comparable to the mechanism of botulinum toxin. By relaxing spasmodic contraction of the sphincter muscle, these peptides create the conditions for painless bowel movements and faster healing of fissures and small wounds.
This is a fundamentally different mechanism of action from conventional haemorrhoid treatments, which typically focus on symptom relief alone. Hemorrelax addresses the underlying muscular tension that prolongs pain and delays healing.
Haemorrhoids, fissures, and the pelvic floor
Haemorrhoids and anal fissures are frequently associated with pelvic floor dysfunction. Chronic constipation, straining at stool, and elevated intra-abdominal pressure — all common in people managing prolapse or other pelvic floor conditions — place significant stress on the rectal and anal tissues. Post-surgical patients recovering from pelvic or bowel procedures may also experience rectal mucosal irritation and dryness that Hemorrelax is specifically indicated for.
Managing rectal comfort is part of managing pelvic floor health. If haemorrhoids or fissures are a persistent concern alongside a pelvic floor condition, speak with your GP or pelvic health specialist.
What Hemorrelax is indicated for
| Condition | How Hemorrelax helps |
| Internal haemorrhoids | The suppository dissolves gradually, releasing active ingredients directly at the site for sustained relief from pain, bleeding, and inflammation. |
| Anal fissures and rhagades | The peptide complex relaxes sphincter spasm — the primary cause of pain in fissures — while hyaluronic acid and plant extracts support tissue regeneration and healing. |
| Rectal mucosal irritation | Soothes irritation caused by frequent bowel movements, diarrhoea, or following medical procedures including colonoscopy or pelvic surgery. |
| Dryness or atrophy of rectal mucosa | Hyaluronic acid and dimethicone restore moisture and form a protective barrier, keeping mucosal tissue healthy and preventing further fissuring. |
| General rectal discomfort | Pain, burning, itching, and irritation in the rectal area — including intertrigo and skin irritation associated with pelvic health conditions. |
The formula — what's in it and why
| Ingredient | Role |
| Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 | Biotechnological peptide with a botulinum toxin-like mechanism. Relaxes spasmodic contraction of the anal sphincter, reducing pain during bowel movements and supporting fissure healing. |
| Pentapeptide-18 | Works synergistically with Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 to amplify the muscle-relaxing effect, enhancing the overall therapeutic action of the formula. |
| Hyaluronic acid | Superior hydration for mucosal tissue. Supports regeneration of damaged tissue and maintains healthy moisture levels in the rectal mucosa. |
| Dimethicone | Forms a protective lubricating barrier on the tissue surface, preventing fissure formation and supporting healing of existing wounds. |
| Oak bark | Astringent properties help stop bleeding and promote tissue healing. |
| Horse chestnut | Strengthens blood vessel walls and reduces inflammation — directly relevant to the swollen, inflamed vessels that characterise haemorrhoids. |
| Pot marigold (Calendula) | Calms irritation and supports faster wound healing. Well established in botanical medicine for its anti-inflammatory and tissue-repair properties. |
| Chamomile | Reduces inflammation and soothes irritated tissue, working in combination with calendula to calm the affected area. |
How to use
Insert one suppository rectally once daily, preferably after a bowel movement. The suppository dissolves gradually, providing a steady release of active ingredients directly to the affected area.
For easier, more comfortable insertion, the Intifresh Suppository Applicator is available separately — designed to make insertion straightforward and hygienic.
