Resistance training begins with endurance or ‘slow Kegels’ to strengthen the ‘slow twitch fibres’ responsible for prolonged bladder and bowel control, so you can get to the toilet in time or last longer through the night. You’ll exercise to keep the weighted ball in place, but also to move the Indicator Wand down – we want 10 repetitions – THAT’S ALL! Then ‘fast Kegels’ for the ‘fast twitch fibres’. These are the muscle fibres which spring into action when you laugh, cough or sneeze.
