Constipation is more than an inconvenience. For people managing pelvic floor conditions — prolapse, bowel dysfunction, post-surgical recovery, or hypertonic pelvic floor — chronic or recurring constipation places real, additional strain on already compromised pelvic structures. Straining at stool is one of the most consistent aggravating factors in prolapse, and one of the hardest cycles to break.
The Reprop Clyster Basic Enema Kit is a 750ml home enema system designed to provide effective, controlled bowel cleansing — giving relief where diet, hydration, and over-the-counter laxatives have not been sufficient.
Bowel health and the pelvic floor
The bowel and the pelvic floor are intimately connected. Incomplete emptying, straining, and constipation all increase intra-abdominal pressure — directly worsening prolapse symptoms and placing stress on pelvic floor muscles. Managing bowel function is not a separate issue from managing pelvic floor health. For many of our customers, it is central to it. If bowel dysfunction is a persistent concern alongside a pelvic floor condition, speak with your GP or pelvic health physiotherapist.
Reprop Clyster and Osalis — what's the difference?
Kegel8 stocks two enema kits, designed for different needs:
| Kit | Best for |
| Osalis Cleansing Kit 300ml, pump-action |
Gentle, targeted use — perineal cleansing after birth, mild bowel relief, pre-procedure preparation. Compact and travel-friendly. |
| Reprop Clyster Kit 750ml, gravity-fed |
Fuller bowel cleansing — more significant constipation relief, colonic irrigation, pre-procedure preparation requiring larger volume. Home use. |
How it works
The Reprop Clyster kit uses gravity to introduce a controlled flow of warm water into the rectum via a tube and nozzle. The water softens and loosens faecal matter, stimulating the bowel to empty more completely than it might do naturally. The 750ml capacity allows for a fuller cleanse than smaller pump-action kits.
The system is designed for safe, private home use with a secure connection between bag, tubing, and nozzle to give you control over flow rate and volume.
A note on "detox" and "toxins"
Enema products are often marketed around detoxification and the removal of toxins. It is worth being straightforward: the body's liver and kidneys handle toxin removal effectively without assistance, and there is no robust clinical evidence that colonic irrigation removes toxins in any meaningful medical sense. The genuine, evidence-based benefits of enema use are more straightforward — relief from constipation, support for bowel emptying, and preparation for medical procedures. These are valuable enough on their own, and they are what the Reprop Clyster kit is designed to deliver.
What's in the kit
| Feature | Detail |
| 750ml capacity | Larger volume than standard pump-action kits, suitable for fuller bowel cleansing and more thorough irrigation. |
| Gravity-fed system | Gentle, controlled flow without mechanical pumping. Hang the bag at height and adjust flow via the tubing clamp. |
| Secure tubing connection | Reliable, leak-resistant connection between bag and nozzle for confident home use. |
| Hygienic materials | Made from high-quality, body-safe materials. Easy to rinse and dry between uses. |
| Home use design | A practical, cost-effective alternative to clinical colonic irrigation for periodic home use. |
For home use only. Always use clean, body-temperature water. Do not use if you have recently had bowel or pelvic surgery, are pregnant, have inflammatory bowel disease, or have been advised by a medical professional to avoid enema use. Enemas should not be used as a substitute for medical treatment of constipation or bowel conditions. If bowel problems are persistent, consult your GP. Keep out of reach of children.
