The sponge was not elliptical like in the picture but more like a baby’s bath sponge. Cleared instructions for cutting/fitting would be helpful. I cut mine in half and it still feels too big but tried as it was and it did work, though a little uncomfortable, need to trim a little more but nervous so might trim too much
The sponge is beautiful quality, but I was alarmed by the huge size, not knowing how much to trim it down.
I read another lady’s review that she had cut it in two, and reshaped each half the same as the original, so I did the same and today I tried it out.
So far so good and it hasn’t popped out. It is slightly uncomfortable but I shall persevere.
At my wit's end with a stage 4 prolapse, wanting to avoid surgery, I bought one. Took it very slowly as it made me sore and then as it softened, it worked wonderfully. Changed my life for the better.

ALL women with prolapse issues should know about these!! This changed my life for the better when I was getting really down from the discomfort and just the hassle of the whole prolapse issue! THANK YOU SO MUCH for making these and keeping the cost down😊
Since caring for my elderly mother and having had three children myself I have developed a cystocele prolapse which is exacerbated by coughing and lifting heavy objects. I was unenthusiastic about the possible treatments such as surgery or oestrogen and wondered if there were any safe alternatives. I was a little sceptical about the sea sponge but it's great - just like a large tampon once you trim it to a suitable size. It’s comfortable to use and very easy to keep clean with the methods recommended.
Absolutely awful. So rough. My first time to use a pessary but it was so Uncomfortable. I'm now using a ring pessary. Don't feel a thing.
At last a reusable pessary. Easy to use and works well
Good product, easy to use. Works successfully as a pessary up to 4 hours, but can be traded out for a fresh one when needed .
After trying several options of pessary I have at last settled on the sponge . It’s a much cheaper option as it’s reusable and doesn’t move. Unlike the contam pessary.
For me this has worked great, I cut it in half and reshaped each one to more like the original shape but with a flat bottom. So I have two for the price of one. I only use it if going out, it stops the constant urging to go to the toilet. I need to lay on the floor to insert it though. So can’t really change it if out. But I would recommend it.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Jade & Pearl Pink Pearls Plus Sponge Pessary. We're glad to hear it has been working well for you. It's great that you found a way to customize it to better suit your needs. We appreciate your feedback regarding the insertion process and will take that into consideration for future product improvements. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. We value your recommendation and are here to support you in any way we can.
I used this for a few weeks and it worked OK. It was the second one I purchased though because I cut the initial one too small to begin with which fell out and didn't add the bulk I needed. I have a back wall prolapse. So, yes, it supports and bulks out the vagina - apply it laying down in bed in the morning, NOT when you've been up a while and everything is pushing down, prolapse and pelvic organs etc. It spurred me onto to going back to the GP to get an NHS one, which has worked well for me and stops the dragging feeling. If you are not sure if a pessary would work this is a good place to start. I was amazed how I was scared to actually examine myself - I suppose I didn't want to know the worst! I really think it was a 'get over it' moment and galvanized me to do something about it. My body is not broken it is changing, so keep active! So I am exercising my pelvic floor like mad and supporting like mad - its just the way it is, I want to stay active for as long as I am able!
Work better than anything else I’ve tried. I find that it works best if you remove it and rinse it before urinating. That way it keeps it clean and comfortable. They last for months if you keep them rinsed
I was so excited to think the pessary support would help my situation but it failed miserably.i followed the instructions word for word and still came out when I went to the toilet. And it made me itchy so perhaps it wasn't a suitable choice but I will keep searching.
Hi Sheila,
Thank you for your feedback and I am very sorry to hear you didn't find the sponge helpful.
If the sponge moves out of place this could be due to not being positioned correctly or cut to the incorrect size.
To help overcome any irritation we recommend using a lubricant or vaginal moisturiser and if vaginal dryness is present, to speak to your doctor about treatment to help make you feel more comfortable.
If there is any further can help you with, please dont hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards
Emma

I wish I had this years ago! This has made the hugest difference to my prolapse. I cannot praise it enough. _x000D_
I bought the large and very carefully trimmed til I felt a comfortable fit. I cannot feel it at all. I would never go down the route of surgery but was feeling quite uncomfortable. Now I feel like I'm back to normal. Amazing.
Trim carefully,!
This helps with my prolapse a lot, I prefer the natural sponges but this is a good back up, I cut mine in two as the the original size is way to big for me but everyone is different.
I find the sponge effective to use during days out where I’m going to be walking around, evenings out etc. I don’t use it all the time but mainly for these occasions. It has been affective and helps prevent me worrying about my condition becoming worse when being active.
