VAT Exemption/Relief Explained
VAT Exemption provides a valuable benefit for individuals who are chronically sick or disabled. It allows them to purchase eligible items at a 0% VAT rate, thus reducing the cost of these essential items. The process of claiming VAT exemption is made simple, especially when shopping online, as our online store is designed to facilitate the process with a series of straightforward questions that can be answered in the comfort of one’s own home.
Eligibility for VAT Relief
The government has outlined the criteria for eligibility for VAT relief, which include:
- Charities that provide their charity number. Individuals who are considered “chronically sick or disabled” as defined by:
- Having a physical or mental impairment that has a long-term and substantial impact on their ability to carry out everyday activities. Having a condition that is medically treated as a chronic sickness, such as diabetes. Being terminally ill.
It’s important to note that VAT exemption does NOT apply to individuals who are only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as those with a broken limb, or frail elderly persons who are otherwise able-bodied.
Proof of Disability
In order to be exempt from VAT, the government requires a simple declaration of the nature of one’s disability at the time of ordering. No proof of the disability needs to be provided to any party. All that is required is the name, address, and disability of the person the item is for, as well as information about their chronic sickness or disability.
Eligible Items
VAT Exemption is only applicable to certain items that have been designed specifically for use by individuals who are chronically sick or disabled. These items include, but are not limited to: bathing aids, mobility aids, toileting aids, continence products, and other daily living aids.
Reclaim Control Over Male Urinary Incontinence with the Uriclak Male Incontinence Penis Clamp
Are you seeking an effective solution to regain control over male urinary incontinence? Various factors such as surgery, brain injury, and weakened pelvic floor muscles can lead to loss of control over leaks and dribbles. Uriclak offers men a simple and practical method to reclaim authority over their bodies.
Uriclak is a type of incontinence clamp known as a Fixer-Occuluder, comprising a metal structure surrounded by soft material, worn around the penis to gently press on the urethra. Incontinence clamps have gained popularity as an alternative treatment, devoid of the side effects, discomfort, and infections often associated with drugs, diapers, and urine collectors. The Fixer-Occuluder type has been favoured in America since the 1980s.
The Uriclak Male Incontinence Penis Clamp: Convenient and Discreet
Uriclak is not only effective but also comfortable and convenient for daily use. It can be worn for up to 8 hours a day, allowing you to comfortably engage in your daily activities. With Uriclak, you can regain control and confidence throughout your workday or social events.
Featuring a soft coating for skin comfort and an innovative internal shape that facilitates blood flow for increased comfort during use, Uriclak effectively prevents dribbles, post-micturition dribbles, and male incontinence. Its design targets leakages with top bulges while applying gentle pressure on the urethra without discomfort. Safety is ensured with all metal components rounded and encased.
For added discretion in public restrooms, there's no need to remove the device when urinating. Simply press the sides to relieve pressure and proceed as usual, reducing the risk of stains or splashes on clothing.
Easy to Use and Customisable for Comfort
Using Uriclak is straightforward: press the narrow sides together to form a circular shape and slip it onto the penis, ensuring a comfortable fit. Its unique design allows natural blood flow while effectively preventing urine leakage. Different sized pressure regulators are included for customisable comfort, with the option to adjust pressure levels as needed.
To maintain comfort, it's recommended to use lubricant and intimate moisturiser. Uriclak should not be worn for more than 8 hours a day, and its lifespan varies based on frequency of use. Regular inspection for any signs of wear or deterioration is advised.
Designed by and for Men Dealing with Incontinence
Invented by Pedro García Berruezo, who himself experienced male urinary incontinence following prostate cancer surgery, Uriclak was born out of necessity. Disappointed by the ineffective and uncomfortable devices available, Berruezo embarked on designing Uriclak for his own use. Encouraged by his urologist, Dr Jose Maria Ayllon Cañones, Berruezo patented Uriclak in 2012, paving the way for its production and availability to other men facing urinary incontinence.
Uriclak remains committed to providing a comfortable and user-friendly solution for male urinary incontinence control.
