One of the key requirements to achieving a strong pelvic floor is patience. Patience is key when practicing your Kegels because results are not immediate. You may still leak a little when you laugh, even after 3 weeks of exercise!

Mix patience with a healthy dose of dedication and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a strong and healthy pelvic floor. But, how long do they really take to work?

If you’re doing your pelvic floor exercises correctly, you should see progress within six weeks.

This is NOT a definitive guideline! If your muscles were extremely weak, you may not see improvement for double that time. Similarly, some (albeit lucky) women can see pelvic floor muscle improvement within just 2-3 weeks. The health of the pelvic floor differs from person to person, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t see results as quick as you’d hoped.

What if Kegels aren’t working?

If you’re not seeing results from Kegel exercises, it could be that you’re not performing the exercises correctly.

To perform a Kegel exercise, you must:

  1. Tighten the muscles around the anus (as if you’re trying to hold in wind)
  2. Tighten the muscles around the vagina
  3. Squeeze and lift these areas simultaneously to perform an effective pelvic floor contraction

Strong vs Weak Pelvic Floor Kegel8

The only issue with manual pelvic floor exercises is that it’s hard to tell if you’re doing them properly. With other muscles, it’s quite easy to tell when they’re being worked and flexed. But, with your pelvic floor muscles located inside of you, it’s going to be pretty difficult to watch them flex…

One way in which you can guarantee the effectiveness of your Kegels is to use a biofeedback tool. Kegel8 Vaginal Cones have a unique indicator tail that allows you to see, in real-time, whether you are exercising the muscles correctly or not. As you squeeze and lift, the tail of the cone waves downwards – it’s that easy! Plus, the set comes with three different weighted cones to give your pelvic floor a thorough workout and helps to build your endurance over time.

Over 30% of women cannot correctly recruit their pelvic floor muscles.

If you cannot product an effective pelvic floor contraction, it’s not the end of the line, extra help is at hand! Electrical stimulation devices, such as the Kegel8 Ultra 20 Electronic Pelvic Toner harness the body’s natural electrical signals to stimulate the pelvic floor muscles and produce an effective contraction all with the push of a button! That means that all of the guesswork is removed, and you can guarantee your pelvic floor gets a great workout every single time.

Jackie - Works So Fast!

"I purchased the Kegel8 Ultra 20 Electronic Pelvic Toner to avoid surgery. After around a week of using the machine, I saw an amazing result. After years of a weak bladder and having to wear incontinence pads, I noticed a difference. There were no dribbles on my pad - I honestly thought I'd have a weak bladder forever! I am absolutely delighted with this machine!
