Frequently asked questions
This Pelvic Trainer helps you perform accurate independent pelvic floor muscle exercises, by audibly guiding you to squeeze and relax. It also measures muscle strength, which is Ideal if you have OK muscle tone, and you want to improve either the strength of the squeeze and/or endurance (length) of the muscle squeeze. The Ultra 20 does the work for you, using e-stim impulses to make weak muscles work and rest. If you struggle to perform an independent Kegel squeeze or have lots of leaks and trouble keeping a tampon in place, we recommend you opt for e-stim assisted pelvic floor exercises.
It is not recommended to use any Kegel8 medical pelvic toners vaginally while pregnant unless under medical supervision, that includes this Pelvic Muscle Trainer.
Biofeedback refers to the fact that this pelvic toner responds to you moving your muscles and contracting your pelvic floor, measures it, and 'feeds back' the information to you on screen. This is an invaluable way to strengthen pelvic floor muscles and help you monitor your progress. Follow the ‘Squeeze Scale’ to improve two aspects of pelvic floor weakness - 1. The strength of your squeeze and 2. Endurance - this is how long you can hold the squeeze before your muscles gets tired. Measuring both areas - how hard you squeeze and how long you hold the squeeze is displayed on the screen in real time so you can record your progress.
The probe has a soft exterior, which is made from body friendly silicone. Inside is pressurised with air so treat it gently - don’t over squeeze it in your hands! When inserted vaginally, you squeeze your muscles as you would when performing Kegel exercises and it measures the force you use, recording it on the screen as a number from 1 - 10. This helps you get the best results, from fast Kegels to slow Kegels, and rebuild strong pelvic floor muscles in a matter of weeks. There’s a page to record your progress and when you see it in black and white you’ll be amazed how quickly your muscles have ‘come back to life’.
