1:3 women will suffer incontinence after childbirth and 1:10 will suffer faecal incontinence… Bet you didn't expect that little shocker did you?

Statistics that no woman wants to hear - but this sad fact can taint the joy of bringing a new baby into the world. So how can you make sure that your body is not only fit and healthy to conceive and carry your baby through pregnancy, but also fit enough for you to continue your life as before?

An advanced, Class IIa medical device that uses neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) to strengthen your muscles, Kegel8 Mother Nurture is also a labour TENS machine for natural pain relief during labour. Why bother hiring a labour TENS machine when you can have Kegel8 Mother Nurture with you every step of the way, including the important bit of getting you back in shape afterwards.

Mother Nurture Is Your New Best Friend

Kegel8 Mother Nurture is a 3 in 1 Pelvic Floor Exerciser and Labour TENS device that will carry you through this wonderful time, by helping to keep your pelvic floor fit and toned and you in control of your body the way nature intended. That way you are free to concentrate on your baby both during pregnancy and beyond rather than worrying about your body letting you down in the most embarrassing of ways!

  1. 1Pre-Conception - You've modified your diet and lifestyle, but what about your pelvic floor? We've got that covered so that before your pregnancy you are in the best shape ever for carrying a healthy baby! Exercising now will last you at least a year and the improved circulation booster you receive is said to boost conception rates!
  2. 2Labour TENS - Pain hurts. Labour hurts, but you don't have to opt for drugs - which incidentally drug your baby too! Labour TENS is a clinically proven way that naturally blocks pain signals to your brain encouraging the release of endorphins. You control the 'boost' button, and Mother Nurture is right by your side!
  3. 3Getting Back In Shape 'Down-There'! It's still a big secret amongst women, one we don't talk about, but most of us have this dread. Will we ever regain our intimate shape? Will we feel loose and baggy and have a vagina like the Mersey Tunnel? Admit it - we all think about it, and if you want a 'mouse's ear' rather than an 'elephants truck', Kegel8 understands and will safely get you back in shape.

What can a strong pelvic floor do for you?

Weak Pelvic Floor

Weak pelvic floor muscles - Kegel8 can help

Strong Pelvic Floor

Strong Pelvic Floor Muscles - Kegel8
  • Reduce the risk of embarassing bladder and bowel leaks during and after pregnancy
  • Increase intimate sensation - for both of you!
  • Help to ease your baby out through the final stages of labour making it easier for you and baby
  • Encourage faster recovery after childbirth

Pregnancy is like a Tsunami for your pelvic floor. You'll see advice about diet and lifestyle changes before and during pregnancy - but sadly little about targeted exercises for your pelvic floor! Targeted pelvic floor exercises have been clinically proven to prevent and treat both urinary and faecal incontinence in late pregnancy and after your baby is born.

The good news is there is plenty you can do to get your pelvic floor fit and strong by exercising the muscle correctly and regularly

Did You Know?

Research reveals that 50% of women don't know how to produce an effective pelvic floor muscle contraction and may actually be working the larger muscles in error; putting additional pressure on the abdomen.

It's no surprise that 2 out of 3 new mums want to know more about pelvic floor muscle exercises!

Getting back in shape... and back into the bedroom

Of course your baby's health and happiness is your main concern, but in time you will regain your life and want to reconnect with your partner. Kegel8 conducted a poll of 1000 new mums and dads revealing some pretty interesting 'bedroom' facts:

What were your top concerns about sex after having your baby?

Top concerns about sex after having a baby

So once you have had a successful six-week check-up, or when you feel ready, Kegel8 Mother Nurture's revolutionary Recovery Programme will help you to get back in shape, quickly, easily and in just minutes a day.

Regaining strength in your pelvic floor muscles will make you feel toned again, giving you more confidence. Not to mention increasing intimate sensation for both you and your partner. Using Kegel8 Mother Nurture as a pelvic toner will also stimulate blood flow to the pelvic area which helps to speed muscle recovery and promote healing of any scar tissue resulting from any stitches or episiotomy.

It is vitally important too that you practise 'safe' pelvic floor exercises following the birth of your baby. Sit ups, crunches and running put too much pressure on your pelvic floor at this time, so it is vital that you take it gently while your body is still recovering, this can take up to 12 months. Please take our advice - forget the 'Celebrity Boot Camp' DVDs they are not safe for your body at this time (if ever!) Kegel8 will gently get your pelvic strength back - SAFELY!

How does Mother Nurture work?

It works in two ways, one as a pelvic toner (the UKs best by the way) and a labour TENS machine. So you get two fabulous machines in one!

It's a pelvic toner!

Electrical impulses from the vaginal probe stimulate a contraction within the muscles of your pelvic floor. These contractions exercise the muscles and, as with any kind of exercise performed regularly, build strength and tone. It is totally silent, and you control the level of intensity that is comfortable for you. We've chosen for you clinically proven exercise programmes to make sure you get the best pelvic floor exercises at this special time in your life.

This electrical stimulation works 90% of the pelvic floor muscles, unlike manual 'Kegels' which target only 40%. Effortlessly effective exercise!

40% of pelvic Floor Stimulated - Manual
90% of pelvic Floor Stimulated - Kegel8
Kegel8 Mother Nurture

It's a labour TENS machine too!

Going through the early stages of labour without any pain relief can be tiring and diminish your ability to handle the pain during the final stages, making you more susceptible to a drug assistant birth.

TENS is a great way to ease you through early stages of labour and reserve your energy for the final push! TENS can be used along with gas and air and is rapidly becoming the popular choice for women.

It works by blocking the pain signals to the bran and helping your body to release endorphins - your body's natural pain killer!

Kegel8 Mother Nurture TENS electrical stimulation gives a soothing massage sensation between contractions and then when a contraction comes, the BOOST button (which you control) will deliver extra natural pain relief.

7/10 mums who used a labour TENS machine found it helped reduce the pain of giving birth - it's a 'must-have' for your hospital bag!

This is one of a couple of reviews i intend to write for this product. I write this after a good ten days use of the product and i felt it was really important to get across how happy i am with it, after hours spent reading reviews of kegel products on-line.

I purchased this basically to 'tidy up' after having three children. They were all big babies, smallest being 8lb 3, largest being 9lb 1. All natural births with no tears, cuts or stitches. I was always really grateful for that, and considered myself very lucky. I recovered quickly each time and on with life. I wont be having any more now, but after my last child, who is now 18 months old, i started to feel a bit wrecked downstairs. My husband never made any comment but it felt quite different for me, almost like everything was a bit squidgy inside. Not the tone or sensation i wanted at all. I started to feel very self conscious and lose confidence, which at the grand old age of thirty was quite sad. No leaks or symptoms of prolapse thank goodness. Sometimes had that rubbish 'open' sensation too.

So now we can be frank! My purchase was purely sex life related. 100%. No skirting the issue. I bit the bullet and ordered the cheapest, simply because i deep down didn't think it would work for me and i didn't want to waste a stack of money. So i ordered on a Thursday and it arrived on a Saturday morning, on a tracked service i was able to monitor on-line. I have used programme eight, toning, each day since. It takes 45 mins so i do it whilst i have that first blissful coffee of the day when the kids go to school. Done by quarter past nine and on with the day.

So, the product itself. The device is the size of a chunky iphone, i found the instructions really straightforward to understand, and discreet but sturdy packaging to keep it in. Easily hidden! The probe is not scary at all, quite small and i understand there are other probe options depending on your needs. The display is simple and clear.

OK so first use was approached with slight trepidation, due to the electric current/lady garden combination being a bit scary! Use a bit of lube on the probe and slip in. I do a couple of pelvic floor squeezes and it seems to get it to the right place. Metal bits go to the sides, as if facing your hips. Select your program as per the instructions and slowly increase until you feel the current. This was a total revelation for me - i had thought i could 'do' pelvic floor exercises until i used this. The enormous power exerted showed me i had merely been tickling at the surface of toning work i needed down there. Immediately i felt long sleeping muscles waking up. It was amazing. After a couple of days it reminded me of that stage when you start the gym and your muscles hate even walking in the door - but that's how you know its changing the muscle tone and structure.

So ten days in this is the deal. Lots has changed already. Everything feels very lifted and supported. My sensations of needing a wee are really different! Previously i wouldn't need a wee for hours then need one immediately. Now i have that long forgotten slow build up to actually needed a wee, like it is pre babies. My cervix has returned to a higher position, which makes me wonder if things actually were sagging a bit in there. Yes, wait for it. Sex is a bit amazing again. Husband is certainly enjoying the changes (he doesn't know about my kegel8 sessions!) and most importantly i am really enjoying the massively increased sensation. Inside, physically, things have changed shape, its less a squidgy shapeless thing and has started to return to a tube of muscle as we all vaguely recall pre-babies! A miracle.

I say do away with the annoying bounty packs in delivery suites and give every single woman a referral to a gynae physio and a subsidised kegel8. This is what every woman needs after her births. Don't accept the changes as the inevitable results of having a family, its rubbish. Have faith because your body can work its way back to fitness. I know so much more about the pelvic floor as a result of my research and never realised how crucial it is to our health as women. I intend to return after the full 12 weeks and review again, so everyone can read how its worth sticking with. Then i might upgrade my kegel8 for my super awesome muscle workouts!

My son is nearly 2 and things just didn't go 'back to normal' after a pretty traumatic birth so I have used this now for just 2 weeks and the change is amazing. I don't feel baggy and I can make the loo in time without an accident. Wish I had found this sooner! If I had known about something like this for labour pain relief I might have given it a go because labour hurt like hell and I am sure the epidural made things worse because I just didn't know when to push.

I have to admit I was rather sceptical about using TENS as a way to prevent labour pain, but the birth of my first son was with an epidural and I had no sensation what so eve, and he was born drowsy, an after effect of the drug on him. This meant that he did not feed as readily as he should have and this caused a bit of angst all round. So I was determined with #2 it would be different. Armed with extra electrode pads I was expecting my labour to be long, but it was remarkable smooth, and I felt in control and so enjoyed the birth of my second son James. I would highly recommend this Kegel8 to all new mums, the boost button was easy to use and the pain killing properties were exceptional. I had thought about giving it to a friend of mine who is due next month, but I am using it to get my pelvic floor back in shape, and it is so good I don't want to be without it now, so she will have to buy her own.
Money well spent, works for me on both levels.

  • Recovering from birth and birth trauma
I was asked to test the Kegel8 Mother Nurture in January 2013 as part of a team of road-testers to evaluate its functionality and also feedback on the product instructions, their clarity and ease of use. I did not buy the product, I was given it to test but I did not receive any other payment for my review.
Initially I started to use the Kegel8 at the end of January 2013. I stopped taking the pill in November 2011 and we were hoping that I would fall pregnant a bit quicker but it just didn't happen. I used it for pelvic toning and strengthening of the muscles for 12 weeks as detailed in the instructions, it was very easy to use, easy to increase the intensity and quite straightforward. After about a couple of weeks I really started to notice the difference, but I think my partner noticed it first. He seemed to think I felt tighter down there and I felt that my pelvic floor was a lot stronger. I fell pregnant in May 2013, so that meant I had to stop using the probe, but I think that I really benefitted from the 3 months that I did use it.
Fast-forward to D-Day and I used the pads for pain killing. That was a real inspiration, I had trialled it a few times before actual labour, I wanted to make sure the pads were in the right place, and it went like a dream. I am not saying I didn't feel pain, but I was able to handle the intensity and enjoy the natural journey of my labour, I could not use a birthing pool because we could not be sure that the floors were substantial enough to hold one, and me. (we are on the 4th floor of a converted warehouse - exactly...) I was delighted that I was able to avoid an epidural and I couldn't take the gas and air mix it made me feel woosy. I was surprised that I had to look on 'alternative' type sites to read up about Labour TENS, it still seems as though it is a bit 'out there' rather than part of credible medicine. I used it throughout the whole labour and would recommend it to other women although I remember reading on the NHS site that it is particularly good for the early stages of labour when back pain is at its worse. Needless to say my son Charlie, was born after 6 hours of labour, and I had a few stitches, but apart from that the experience was calm and very beautiful. I remember my sister giving birth with an epidural and she couldn't push because she had no feeling and her daughter was almost distressed when born and unable to feed.
Not quite ready to going back to using the probe yet, But I wanted to share my experience of the Mother Nurture and I hope it has been of help - I found there was so much information out there it was a bit difficult finding my way, but I so enjoyed being on the Kegel8 trial and would recommend this to other Mums like me who want to be pro-active in their birth and minimise damage and danger to our bodies!
Thank you Kegel8.

This has defiantly helped me get better than "back to normal" even though I started using it 5 months pp.

My husband had not even noticed that I was "broken" as to speak until I had used this a few times. I feel better than ever.

I did not use this before my pregnancy or as a labour Tens so I am unable to comment on that part of the machine.
I purchased this because after the birth of my daughter I found that I still could not control my bladder. I expected to pad up for a week or so afterwards, but when I was still padding 3 months after her birth I knew I had to do something,.My health visitor recommended Kegel8 after she had seen a presentation at a Midwives conference, and I was amazed how quickly I got back to normal. I would say within a week I was able to go without pads, and within another 4 weeks felt confident and more than ready to tackle the bedroom with DB. No problema! easy to use, straightforward and I am delighted.
This has SO worked for me.

Stopped working
Review by Olga posted on 22 February 2016

I was very excited to find this and use it. I followed the instructions and everything went well, up until 6 months in when the device stopped working. The program will stop moments from starting and start flashing stars on the screen and then shut off. I attempted resetting it, changing batteries, and after informing cosumer service I was told it was probably the wires and probes, even though I made it very clear that the machine (device) was beeping, flashing stars and shutting off! I went ahead and purchased new wires and probe and of course the problem was still there. Customer service promised me to follow up with an MD and look into the device issue further and since then have made no further contact with me. I'm very upset about this, because I made it clear that the device had an issue and instead of addressing it they ignored my issue and left it at that and even tried to say I might need to buy a more expensive device. WTF?! Why would I buy another one of your devices if the one I already purchased went to shit in a few months.

Bottom line I would not recommend anyone buy this it is a waste. The product doesn't last and customer service is horrible. Don't bother.

  • Recovering from birth and birth trauma
I purely purchased this item to help tone back up after having a baby. I originally wanted to purchase the kegel 8 tight and tone but brought this one as it was slightly cheaper and didn't want to spend more money incase the product didn't work well. Glad I didn't spend more money. Firstly this product did not come with the black and red leads which fits to attach the probe to the machine instructed in the book and on the video for this product. However the probe did fit directly into the machine which I'm not sure is correct and it says differently in the book so this is very misleading. Secondly when first trying to use the product I couldn't feel anything even when on the highest setting. I even testEd it against my hand to see if it was working but still nothing. I left it and tried it a couple of hours later against my hand and could start to feel some slight very weak pulses but only when it was it was on a high setting. After 1 minutes into the programme I then couldn't feel anything but decided to carry on and see if it would start again but nothing. I dont knew whether this is a faulty product but it seems work for a short period then stop. I tried it again in my vagina but nothing. When it's inserted i can't feel a thing although I can feel the cone tight against my vagina walls. Ive tried repositioning it snd trying different programmes but still can't feel a thing. Very disappointed as this product is not cheap so I've now wasted alot of money which isn't great especially with having a baby to pay for.

Product Questions

Hi! I am 21 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have two questions:
1. I have the Tight and Tone electronic pelvic toner and I used this after I gave birth to my first child. I didn't feel the massive changes that other people have reported which left me a bit frustrated. I still sometime leaked if I sneezed or coughed. My question is, after I give birth to this baby should I invest in the Mother Nurture probe or will the Tight and Tone probe that I already have be adequate to tighten things up down there?
2. I have noticed that my pelvic floor muscles are really weak now, I keep leaking if I sneeze or cough and I am wondering what I can do for the next few months during my pregnancy to make things stronger. I know I can't use the electronic probe but I also have a manual probe (I bought it on this website but it seems to have been discontinued). Can/Should I use that during the last part of my pregnancy?
Thank you!
HELP! I can't hold until I get to the loo and have already had a couple of embarrassing accidents and I am 6 months pregnant - will this help me?
I gave birth 27 months ago, i had a difficult forceps delivery with episiotomy and tearing. Unfortunately i am still suffering from weak pelvic muscles. I suffer from incontinence when sneezing, coughing or laughing. Its time for me to take control... which device and programme would you recommend please?
I have just had my 4th child 2 months ago, I don't have problems with incontenance although when I need, I Have to go quickly. Last 3 pregnancies I did not need stitches. My partner assures me things feel the same but I feel myself that I could have more control down there, I can't 'hold' my muscles when doing standard kegel exercises and I am confused about which device would suit me.
My baby was born 2 months ago and I had stitches. I need to get back into shape and things just don't seem right yet...Can I use this now or should I look at the Ultra 20? Please advise.
Iv had 5 children n years of neglect to pelvic floor exercises, witch One Do u recomend kegal8 or 20? Im desperate for a better Sex life and depressed and need to wee alot sometimes incontanance, think its called, dont know if i have prolapse, or anything else as my Dr wudnt exzamen me when I asked n said had no funding for a oporaton for viginal tightening and tummy tuck.
Hi, I am due in 3 months, but I am finding that I can't hold my wee, and I have had more than a few accidents. The lovely maternity dresses I have bought are currently being forsaken for black trousers to hide my embarrassment. Help! Will this help?
Hi I'm wondering what probe wood be rite for me I've had five kids and feel a loose sensation down below and occasional Leaking and poor sensation during sex for both me and my partner !
Hi I'm 25 weeks pregnant with my second I had no problems with my first pregnancy, but this one I have been doing my pelvic floor muscles when I can or remember but can't seem to find the time. I have been feeling like my organ are going to fall out most of the time. Can I use the Mother Nature to help me now? And would I need to buy any add ons for the tens part or does it come with everything? (Apart from the case)

Thank you xx
Hi. I gave birth to my second baby 7 weeks ago. During my second pregnancy I leaked a bit and slightly now. Although my partner says everything is the same i feel it is loser. I now don't have intense or satisfying orgasms like I used to and don't get the same sensation when he enters me. I was wondering which product would be best for me?
I am thinking about purchasing a kegel product but am not sure which would be best for me! I don't have children but like the idea of the machine doing the exercises so that I know the correct muscles are being exercised. Or would you recommend that I try to do the exercises myself by using the cones or the original kegel exerciser ? I'm not sure which product would be best for me!
Hi I am an exercise Physiologist working for a physip clinic . I was wondering if you had any products which can be used in the Clinic where the probes can be changed ? We are based in singapore and also wanted to know how much would it cost us extra to ship it
How long after the birth should you use the recovery mode?
I have a four month old and have found it almost impossible to find a stretch of 60 minutes where I'm not having to look after the baby, sort out dinner ,express etc or just sleep (i have woken up in the early hours many times still attached to the probe...sure this is not good) so have yet to get in a good routine of using it and so not seeing results.
Will doing shorter sessions be ok or not beneficial.or is there a different , shorter programme I could try? (I find it hard to have the pro inserted and get on with other activities as it seems to come out too easily due to the lubrication..I have tried)
Thank you
