VAT Exemption/Relief Explained
VAT Exemption provides a valuable benefit for individuals who are chronically sick or disabled. It allows them to purchase eligible items at a 0% VAT rate, thus reducing the cost of these essential items. The process of claiming VAT exemption is made simple, especially when shopping online, as our online store is designed to facilitate the process with a series of straightforward questions that can be answered in the comfort of one’s own home.
Eligibility for VAT Relief
The government has outlined the criteria for eligibility for VAT relief, which include:
- Charities that provide their charity number. Individuals who are considered “chronically sick or disabled” as defined by:
- Having a physical or mental impairment that has a long-term and substantial impact on their ability to carry out everyday activities. Having a condition that is medically treated as a chronic sickness, such as diabetes. Being terminally ill.
It’s important to note that VAT exemption does NOT apply to individuals who are only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as those with a broken limb, or frail elderly persons who are otherwise able-bodied.
Proof of Disability
In order to be exempt from VAT, the government requires a simple declaration of the nature of one’s disability at the time of ordering. No proof of the disability needs to be provided to any party. All that is required is the name, address, and disability of the person the item is for, as well as information about their chronic sickness or disability.
Eligible Items
VAT Exemption is only applicable to certain items that have been designed specifically for use by individuals who are chronically sick or disabled. These items include, but are not limited to: bathing aids, mobility aids, toileting aids, continence products, and other daily living aids.
Ultra-slim internal probe for vaginal or anal use features 2 ring electrodes. Expertly designed it is compatible with all pelvic floor devices that use a lead wire, including Kegel8® devices. Neat with a tapered tip, insertion is comfortable while the adjustable base ring enables you to control the depth. Designed to stimulate the muscles deep within the pelvic floor, evenly and effectively, it has 2 ring electrodes. If you find that you lose connectivity between the probe and your muscles when using e-stim, or if you feel loose, you’ll find probes with circumference electrodes are better for you.
When used anally it stimulates the posterior part of the pelvic floor muscles and targets the sphincter muscles. This is ideal for those suffering with bowel incontinence, excessive flatulence or prolapse. This probe contains less than 8% nickel, and should not be used if you suffer with a nickel allergy. For those we recommend a gold probe such as the Kegel8 Gold Glide.
Customer Reviews
I've been reading about the anal probes. I would love to add one to my program but I'm unsure because I have some concerns and no one on here seem to have asked questions regarding toileting. How do I know if my bowel is empty as the digestive system is working 24/7. Surely the probe needs cleaning with a special product for health and safety.
im just concerned about how far up the probe goes into the anus.
im frightened of damaging the sphincter muscle.
should about 1 " be left out only and the rest should be inserted?
how far in should the lower silver band be inside you to clear the sphincter muscle ? about half inch? and if its not in enough will it cause damage?
also ive found alittle lubrication gel really helps with insertion.
Any way I did use it, came with no instructions, have no idea what the ring is about.
I could only get up to 10 because every time I wanted to go higher it felt as I was being stung by a bee!
I would highly recommend trying this before resorting to surgery.
However the adjustment ring could do with redesigning as it does not lock in place very well, I have had to wrap an elastic band around the bottom of it to keep it in place!
After having had a hysterectomy in 2007 and radiotherapy i developed atrophy of my vagina. Then along comes urgency incontinence, Although I was only 60 then, i felt really, really old when i started to have to wear Panty liners.
I have only just started the treatment with the Kegel8 and feel I did the correct thing in starting off with the slimmer prob, the first three times I used it, it was a little painful to insert, but I am glad to report the pain has now stopped on insertion. I think I still need more confidence to use the larger probe, which I am sure will come the more I use the Kegel8. Thank you.
