What our customers say about the V For Men Pelvic Toner

Highly recommended
I only wish there were more programs but then a mans body isn't as complicated as a woman's body. I suffer from weak anal muscles due to a sitting down job and lack of excercise so I often have a problem after using the toilet. I ve had this unit for over a week and already feel my problem isn't as bad as it was. For you men that are uncomfortable with the thought of something being stuck in your ass, face it ... We are human, we are not mechanical. I m not gay but I d rather accept something what is and once you get past that taboo way of thinking and accept it for what it is you ll feel better. I ve had endoscopy and colonoscopy and much rather would have the camera up my backside than down my throat. I suffer also from premature ejaculation so watch this space as to whether or not this unit helps. It's not cheap at £150+ but worth every penny. I ve tried manual kegel excercise but it's not enough and at 45 this problem will definitely take the "man" out of you. Bite the bullet and take a chance on it! You won't regret.

If you haven’t,why not?
Although not leak free, the improvement in the last 12 weeks is impressive,in fact, there has been more improvement in 3 months than in the previous 9 months since my surgery. I just wish I had tried it sooner.

Happyjack

Very satisfied with result
Thank you for this excellent device....I have been using it for several weeks now and can say that there is a significant improvement to continence and pelvic floor muscles. I can recommend it to anyone suffering problems similar to mine.

ADI

Very happy with my improvement.
suffer from both ED and Benign Prostatic Enlargement. I have been using the Kegel8 since I purchased it some weeks ago. I have to say that I have noticed an improvement In my ED, sometimes spectacularly so! I have also noticed, although I din't purchase it for this, a significant improvement in the number of times I have to get up in the night to go to the toilet. On three night last week I slept right through with no interruptions, something that hasn't happened for a very long time.I am continuing to use on Pr5 for erections and hope to see some more improvement, although I am currently happy with what I have achieved do far. Results don't come overnight, you do have to persevere for a few weeks, but I am a very happy man so far. I use the anal probe, and with plenty of gel, it is not uncomfortable, nor unpleasant to use, you do, obviously, have to be scrupulous about hygiene.

    Amazing! Something That Actually Works!
    Review by Simonflys
At the age of 53, I had a radical robotic prostatectomy in early June 2016 - a major op not without its issues. Two of the biggies being urine leaks and erection problems. I had loads of info and 'warnings' about both issues before my op but, nothing quite prepared me for the reality of them.
By the time I got to the op stage, after all the scans, biopsies, probes and 'interventions' - I thought I could pretty much deal with any post op after effects. After all - my surgeon had prescribed me a course of pre-op pelvic floor sessions using the Anuform probe - via a local Physio. So, I thought I'd just pick up where I left off after my op. Not so.
It was pretty plain to me that I was going to need much more sustained and disciplined pelvic floor exercises to control my urine leaks. I'd be spending lots of time going back and forth between my home and the Physio - just to be wired up to the probe. That's when I discovered the Kegel8 for men following advice posted on the Prostate Cancer UK website. So I though I'd give it a whirl but I honestly didn't have any kind of high expectations.
To get to the point, I've been using the Kegel8 for nearly 6 weeks and the change in my urinary control and penile sensation has been remarkable. I've said goodbye to Tena Men (serves me right for joking about them in the past!) which may sound petty but I can assure you, for me, it's a massive, massive step forward! I've followed the suggested programmes religiously and they have now become an easy part of my daily routine - importantly in the comfort of my own home. I alternate between the supplied probe and my Anuform - which I prefer - it 'feels' like it's doing a better job!
In summary - I'm extremely happy with my Kegel 8 for Men (*), it's exceeded my expectations and I'm pretty sure it will support me well in the future.
(*) Just one gripe - nothing to do with the machine. This website and the communications from Kegel8 are very female centric - I've raised the issue with the sales guys so we'll see what happens.....Don't let that put you off guys, it's your recovery that's important!
Best of luck / Simon :-)

Early days , but so far so good
    Review by pete
Only unpacked it early this morning and used it for one hour I found the instructions quite challenging and technical but guess they have to be.
Bit concerned that there was no mention of prostate problems.I have early prostate cancer and underwent a t.u.r.p. procedure a couple of years ago.It did mention cervical cancer which seemed odd as the device is designed for men[?]
Hoping to carry it out twice a day ,religiously, for 12 weeks.

Would love it if only the manual were corrected.
    Review by Petros
Overall, it is great, but read on...I bought the Kegel8 V for men after reading an article in the Daily Mail that suggested it might help with my overactive bladder problems. I was disappointed that the neat kit supplied didn't contain the perineal electrodes, so I had to order those. I was also very disappointed with inconsistencies in or omissions from the manual which meant that it is almost impossible to work out which electrode combinations and positions are needed for some treatments. I have had to make various assumptions as a query to Customer Services yielded a vague and unhelpful reply. It is early days yet to stay whether the Kegel8 V will help my condition, but it clearly is exercising pelvic floor muscles. What I have also found to my astonishment is how good the sensations from some configurations can feel. Whereas the ankle electrode used for my problem can give discomfort that lasts even after the end of the treatment, when I use the slim probe for general pelvic floor exercise it is quite the opposite. I then never want the sensation to end! I can see me using the unit for pure pleasure well after I have discovered whether it has improved my problems.

    V For Men
    Review by Just Probing
As someone who suffers from chronic prostatitis, erectile dysfunction and historically, premature ejaculation, the opportunity of using a drug free alternative (especially after endless courses of ineffective antibiotics) seemed the obvious route to take.

So, I waited patiently for the V for Men to become available and when the email arrived telling me they were in stock, I purchased a unit. I have used a TENS machine before now for lower back pain and found it gave relief, so approached the NMES device with hope and an open mind. I read up on the benefits of pelvic floor exercise for men and was willing to outlay the investment on a unit.

I didn't have a problem with how you deliver the best stimulation. I am a keen user of a prostate massager (prostate massage is thought to help with the symptoms of prostatitis) so wasn't squeamish about anal insertion. For those who struggle with the idea or think it questions their masculinity, think again. The probe isn't big - it's as advertised - slimline. Use plenty of lube and once inserted, it only takes moments before you become acclimatised to the 'foreign object' and by the end of the programme, forget it is there.

The point I am trying to make is overcome any fear or machismo, and if you are able, use the probe. A word of caution though! Don't go all macho and turn the 'amp up to 11' straight away. Take the advice of the manual and take it slow. It is surprising how quickly you get used to the mA and start increasing without discomfort. Oh, and please don't think this is kinky or perverted, but I have begun to quite enjoy the sensation, especially when using the 'erection' programme.

I have only had the unit for just under a week, but have used it everyday, sometimes twice. It is far too soon to see any perceptible improvement, but I definitely think there maybe something happening on the erection front. Or is it just wishful thinking? Time will tell...

I will post another review after a further, extended period of treatment. In the meantime, thanks to Savantini for getting the unit back in stock.

    Good product
    Review by Pat
    January 2014

I have just started to use the Kagel 8 V and am hopeful that it will help with my weak pelvic floor muscles and a loss of sensation to the penis. The device is well built with plenty of room for custom programs per my therapist. It comes in a very nice case, which was unexpected and the quality appears to be as good as more expensive devices that can be rented.

Only two minor cliches; my order was International and it got stuck at the ORD post office for 19 days with the USPS. An option to ship via Fedex or UPS, even at more cost, might save on the frustration. The other minor point is that the directions on page 31 for improving sensitivity to the penis are very vague with guidance as to where to put the surface electrodes.

The good news is that the customer service is excellent. Even during the busy times of the New Year holidays, they were very fast with a response to my questions and they even made sure that I did not pay the VAT tax.

And yes, I would buy from them again.

    Kegel8 Review For Men
    Review by aw53
I have recently purchased the above machine due to rectal, testicular and prostate issues. I have been fighting adverse prostate issues for 6 years and despite surgery and lots of medication, the condition / illness has not improved.
I have started using the Ultra machine in addition to a narrow and long wheat bag, which can be heated in a microwave. The 2 together give me much needed relief. The heat bag came about due to a member of staff in a local pharmacy explaining to me that a close relative had prostate illness used such and found it positively helped.
In relation to the Kegel 8, it took me some time to find the ideal intensity that suited me and would say to others, you must do the same. The machine can be varied in intensity up and down and this is a fantastic plus. The machine does have a male side with recommended prostate settings. Another bonus is being able to have the VAT returned as it is a health product. I know a number of men who have prostate illness and all of us, have tried our own solutions to overcoming this illness and their are many approaches and each is important to everyone of us, but this product is certainly helping me at the present time.

    Kegelling all the way
    Review by Jimmy
I have had a radical prostatectomy 6 weeks ago. After surgery I had a catheter for 11 days. After the removal of the catheter I was "free-flooding".
With the catheter removed I was advised to commence daily Kegel exercises. This I did, up to 5 full sets a day, though did not notice much improvement after 4 weeks.

6 weeks post-op I started to use the Kegel8, that is now 8 days ago.
I use program 7, 1 hour in the morning at 06.00 and 1 hour when I go to bed.

In the last week I have noticed a significant improvement. I am still leaking but no longer "free-flooding".

Yes, this is a big commitment and yes, I am not always in the mood to have the probe dancing away in my butt, but as Stephanie says, it's an investment.

It's an investment in myself and at least now I know that one day soon, the target is 6 weeks from now, I will be free of leaks.
I'll send a post when I have achieved this.

    First impressions: very good
    Review by Paul
I just received the unit today. I used the unit for one session. So, this is a review of my first impressions. I will have to come back later for results.

The product seems to be well made. The instructions are overall very good. But, I am still left with some questions which I will get into. But, overall, I thought the instructions were good.

The instructions suggest using the unit twice a day every day for the first three months, then you can use it less frequently. The programs are 15 to 20 minutes long. So, it is a fair amount of commitment to make to use the product. Before buying, you need to ask yourself if you are willing to put in the time or not. How important are the results to you?

The anal probe it comes with is sold separately as the "Slim Pelvic Toner Probe - Unisex". The instructions say the probe should last 3 months. So you will need to periodically replace the probe. And, perhaps some users might prefer some of the other probes available here.

I bought two sets of Kegal8's cleaner and lubricant. I think it was a fair price, but, if you prefer, you can get a water based lubricant and adult toy cleaner at an adult supply store.

If you are hesitant to insert something rectally, the lubricant works well and it is easy to insert. You may feel as if you need to go to the bathroom. I guess your body is thinking it is fecal matter. But that feeling goes away in a minute.

The product description notes that it can be used with either an anal probe or with skin electrodes. Additionally, it is a dual channel unit. This allows you to simultaneously use an anal probe and skin electrodes.

There are a few different programs. One of the main differences between the programs is the location of where you place the skin electrodes. Though there are also differences in the timings of the different programs.

One of the possible places for the skin electrodes is in the perineum area. But, of note, you use the electrodes in the pernium area instead of the anal probe, if you do not want to use the anal probe. None of the programs include using the both the anal probe and electrodes in the perineum area. In fact, the only program that uses both the anal probe and the electrodes has you locate the electrodes on the ankle, to stimulate the tibial nerve.

Using the unit doesn't feel like exercise really. I can feel some contractions, and tingling sensations. But, you don't work up a sweat or anything. They recommend increasing the milliamps slowly over days or weeks to not overwork yourself too quickly. But, of note, what feels like too much stimulation, like an uncomfortable electric shock, within just a few seconds, you acclimate to and it no longer feels uncomfortable. So, if you momentarily think you don't like it, give it just a few seconds and it should be okay.

The book says that Kegal8 sells two different skin electrodes, different size/shape for different locations. But I only see one kind available. I'm guessing that Kegal8 decided only one size is really needed and thus the printed manual is in error on that point.

So, now to the things that I did not fully understand that could have been explained better in the book. For one, it seems you only do one leg at a time with the tiabl nerve stimulation. You use a pair of skin electrodes on one leg, which takes one channel. But the unit comes with 4 skin electrodes. Which seems to imply that there should be a program that would do both legs at the same time. Or maybe you are only supposed to just use one set of skin electrodes at time and so you actually receive a spare set. I haven't figured that out yet. This should be explained better in the manual.

As far as placing the electrodes for the tibal nerve stimulation, the drawing could be better. It is a small diagram in the book. And my legs are big. Thus, proportionally, the electrodes on my leg are much smaller than the it looks on the diagram. What I mean is, based on the diagram, you would think the skin electrode covers the area from the ankle to near the rear tendon. But that is almost 4 inches on me and the electrode is about 1.5". So, where exactly does it go?

Based on looking at some diagrams online of the tibal nerve, it looks like it runs basically between the ankle and rear tendon, so, I put the pad basically halfway between.

Now, for the second one, where should it go? The drawing shows it above the first one. And you can guess maybe a couple of inches above the lower one. But, the book doesn't say specifically.

So, based on my best guess, I put the skin electrodes on my left leg. As noted, the lower one between ankle and rear tendon and the upper one a few inches higher. The instructions say to limit the skin electrodes to 15 ma, you can damage yourself if you go higher. But, I could just barely feel it at 15 ma. I would be tempted to increase the ma higher, but the instructions say not to. So, I'm not sure if I don't have the probes in the right spot, or, if that is normal, that you only barely feel the skin electrodes. I don't know.

So, basically, that is my main complaints with the book, not quite enough information about the skin electrodes. But, otherwise, it is a pretty good book.

I will report back in the future my result. But, I fear I may loose interest. Since, from day to day, you don't notice any difference, it may be difficult to stay motivated and shove something up your anus a couple of times a day. LOL. I will see how that goes.

For a long time I was told Pelvic Muscle exercises were easy to do any time...yes true, but so easy to forget !!
This machine is easy to set up and the excercises are very good multiple pre-programmes and a way to create your own when more confident. Basically plug in switch on and relax as the machine does the exercises for you!.
This machine is a very versatile and discreet personal assistant, always available when you want and fully adjustable to your own comfort. Comes comfortably sized to be in hand luggage with ease, easy to read screen and with a detailed handbook.

    Frequently asked questions

How soon after radical prostatectomy can I start exercising with e-stim?

When you have had the all-clear from your consultant or healthcare professional you can start using Kegel8 e-stim. It is contraindicated to use e-stim if you have an active cancer.

I’m having problems getting and keeping an erection.

Please check with your Healthcare professional to make sure there are no other underlying health conditions responsible for these symptoms. There are also medications that you may have been prescribed that might be playing a part; beta blockers and blood pressure medicines are a common cause for ED. Kegel8 V For Men uses e-stim impulses to stimulate the growth of thicker and stronger nerves and fibres in the pelvic floor, improving blood flow, nerve sensitivity and reactivity. If you also find you have bladder and bowel control problems, this might be a sign the pelvic floor needs strengthening. These programmes will help your overall pelvic health and reduce atrophy in ageing muscles.

Following surgery, I have been using incontinence pads, but I want my continence back. Will this help?

There are clinically proven pre-set programmes for stress incontinence (leaks when pressure is put on the bladder) and overactive bladder (the urge cannot be controlled). What you will find is that strengthening the pelvic floor will also help reduce night-time toilet visits - it’s average to go once a night, but any more than that and it’s called nocturia.

Using e-stim, you’ll find the impulses will help the brain to locate the pelvic floor muscles and, by following the 12-week programme created by Physio Amanda Savage, you’ll re-sync the muscles with your brain, restoring proper bladder function.

Can this help with stress incontinence?

Stress incontinence is leakage that occurs when the bladder is under pressure or during high impact, say when you cough or jump. This is a common problem following surgery, if the pelvic floor muscles have weakened due to ageing, or from frequent stretch and straining from a chronic cough or constipation. Exercising using Kegel8’s e-stim will make the pelvic floor muscles fibres repeatedly contract and relax to encourage them to grow and have a better blood and nerve supply. E-stim improves the health of the pelvic floor tissues and seems to be effective in counteracting muscle atrophy and muscle dysfunction.

Will V For Men help strengthen my erections?

Yes! Pelvic floor exercises using Kegel8 can help, but please check there are no underlying health issues. A stronger pelvic floor boosted by e-stim impulses will make the muscle fibres repeatedly contract and relax to encourage them to grow and have a better blood and nerve supply. E-stim improves the health of the pelvic floor tissues and seems to be effective in counteracting muscle atrophy and muscle dysfunction too.

I am due to have pelvic surgery and already have leaking problems. How soon after the surgery will I be able to start using this device?

If you do not have an active pelvic cancer, then you could start your pelvic floor muscle exercising BEFORE surgery. This will help to get the ‘ball rolling’ and start energising the muscles and circulation with e-stim. Following surgery, you should wait approximately 12 weeks or follow advice from your healthcare provider. The quicker you start the quicker you’ll receive the benefits, and your recovery and recuperation time may be shortened. Not only will you have strengthened muscles and nerves, but you will also help to combat atrophy which comes with ageing.
