What our customers say about the Ultra 20 v2

Having had two repairs each for prolapsed bladder and bowel, the last two just over a year ago, I was devastated to find I had another small bladder prolapse. Surgeon has suggested further surgery. I had previously purchased a similar product to Kegel 8 some years ago and felt it didn't make any difference, although I did use regularly. Took the plunge and bought the ultra plus a couple of weeks ago. Within days of using I can feel the difference. No longer do I have vaginal noise and a feeling of fullness and dragging. Better still I no longer have to use pads "just in case". I have been referred to a continence nurse in preparation for surgery to ensure that I know how to do my pelvic floor exercises. I have deferred the appointment, because I have confidence that if used regularly the ultra plus will work. My husband has already commented that there is a marked difference - if it can do that in two weeks then I am looking forward to the three month results!! ...

I was nervous about two things: spending a lot of money on something I'd only seen on the internet, not heard of from a 'real' person - and also nervous about using something internally as I freak out during smear tests as they are so painful - I get vaginismus (also during sexual intercourse). Nevertheless I went ahead because I saw my middle age incontinence just getting worse and worse. I'm so delighted with this product - I use it twice daily on programme 3 for urge incontinence and can relax and listen to my favourite radio programmes whilst using it. I get to my front door, get the key in the door and can just about hold it in now without leaking only after two weeks of use at 30 to 40 MA. I long for the day when I may be able to do without pads and if things keep improving at the same rate I believe this day will come. At first I found the sensation rather strange but I've come to associate such positive results that I now enjoy using the machine.

I wonder why I took so long for me to do something about the problem I had with leaking. It had got to the stage that even going downstairs I would leak and when the lift at work broke I was goind down 3 flights of stairs and I could feel the leaks onvirtually every one. My sex life was non existant - we'll the occasional fumble, but I hadnt had an orgasm through sex for ages. I did some background research and my sister in law sore by her kegel8 so much so that I decided to try it. I havent got a prolapse like she has thankfully, but I know that something was not right. She wouldnt let me borrow hers (I would have bought a new probe) but I can understand that, she said it was such a lifeline that she didn't want to be without it (she has a stage 2 cystercele I think its called). I am 4 weeks into using this and I haven't leaked at all today so I want to dispense with the fuc**ng horribly panty pads that I had come to rely on over the last few years. I am almost ashamed ...

It is early days but I am extremely positive that I will continue to see results as I feel a slight improvement already. I am 64, I don't suffer from a weak bladder, I have not been to the doctor but I do feel a bulge and can only think this would get worse as time goes on. The bulge makes me feel down and I can't function properly as it is constantly on my mind. I have been doing exercises for the past 6 months but wish I had bought the Kegel8 Ultra 20 sooner.

I knew I needed something to tighten me up, but I hadn't realised that there was something like this available! Quite honestly it is amazing, Hubby thinks it is wonderful and when I had a 2 week break recently he noticed straight away, it is that effective! Yes you do have to use it regularly, but for someone like me who goes to the gym, walks the dog, it just becomes part of my routine. I now use it 2/3 times a week. I don't have any leaks or mishaps, and my love-life is better than it has been for a decade. I tell all my friends, some have bought, some are embarrassed that I am talking so candidly about my problem/solution. These should be available on the NHS, simple as that! My sister bought one, she has a prolapse and is facing surgery, but she hopes with regular use she can stop it getting worse and hopefully avoid the knife! Can I also say that for the first time in my life I can have multiple orgasms – now if that’s not a healthy “side effect” I don’t know what is!...

Expensive but worth every penny. Don't put off buying this miracle machine.
    Review by ro
I have been using the Kegal Ultra 20 for the last week and a half. I have had 3 children, the youngest now 2 yrs. I only really felt I had problems after my 3rd child. I had to dash to the loo for fear of wetting myself and had to get up every night to use the toilet which I never had to do before. Sex wasn't the same either. Orgasm was difficult to reach and had lost it's intensity. I felt looser and was starting to feel self conscious with my hubby. I couldn't squeeze when we were having sex. I knew I had to do something but hated doing the kegal excercises and always forgot to do them.

At first when I used it it did stimulate my bladder a bit and I had a few loo dashes but that soon improved. I can't lie down while I'm using it as I have a toddler to run around after so I actually use it while I doing the housework etc and it's working out fine. I no longer have to get up at night for the loo and have no more loo dashes. I'm definitely tighter down there and sex is much better. I only wish I hadn't put off buying it for so long. I actually felt guilty for spending the money on myself. I now realize that this is my health and I have to look after it. Girls if you feel you need help then GO FOR IT! You wont be disappointed. I can't wait to feel the full benefits of this miracle machine. My MA's are at 90 and I use the simp and oab programs every day. They work great. As I progress I will use other programs as they suit. I'm very happy with my results.

Yes, I would recommend. Ignore your pelvic floor at your peril.
    Review by Molly
I have spent the last 4 years doing the rounds of Doctor's appointments, Physiotherapy, referral to Consultant under the looming cloud of possible mesh surgery. I have done all I can (at least I am sure I have done all I can) to avoid going under the knife because I am 45 and I don't want surgical intervention. I had little success with pessaries, even though they seem to work for many women. When I had mine fitted I found that it stopped me going to the toilet (number 2's) which is distressing in itself. I like to think that I have been very proactive in the rehabilitation of my pelvic floor, but I have to say that when you are supposed to do exercises and you just can't feel your muscles, it is disheartening to say the least.
So I decided that I had to lose weight, and lost 3 stones, that helped with my stress incontinence no end, I now only drink 1 coffee a day (OOOOH how I love that coffee) the rest of the time I drink water. I swim because this was recommended to me by my Physiotherapist who said that I am not putting pressure on my pelvic floor. I also do squats, not with weights, but I have read that this is good too.
It was in a final last ditch attempt that I bought an Ultra - my Physiotherapist said it 'couldn't hurt'. Within 3 weeks I was feeling muscles that I hadn't felt for years and within 2 months I have a noticeable improvement in my prolapse, I was a Grade 1-2 but it is barely noticeable now and I am continuing with this, and with my other changes too, to try and reverse the prolapse. I have read that this can be done.
If anything I feel very sad that because of the embarrassment surrounding these issues that I didn't know more about it. When I see pad adverts on TV I shout at the TV because I was that woman in my late 30's wearing a pad because I thought that mild wetness was part of being a mother/woman/older. I now find out that it was my pelvic floor 'crying' out for attention and I just ignored it - to my detriment/prolapse.
So yes, I do recommend this product to my women friends and I advise them at every possible opportunity to do their kegel exercises and look after their pelvic floor - as was said to me once, it is far easier to prevent a prolapse than to repair one.

Anyone note how ratings of under 3 are not showing….
    Review by Jane
2 reviews written - neither showing - not a very fair assessment considering most ratings of 4 & 5 are from people who have just received the product. I'm guessing my recommend to a friend selection of never will probably block this post also

    Double Dissapointment
    Review by Janie
1st comment is Kegel8's request for review a week after delivery is ridiculous and obviously sways reviews in their favour. Look how many give 4 & 5 stars for product just received. My friend and I bought ours 10 wks ago. My friend having stress inc was concerned her MAs were at 90 from 2nd day. We emailed cust service, got prompt polite but unhelpful response advising either she had nerve damage (she didnt) or cone was not connecting (ie her bits were too big). Shortly after she started spotting daily and after 8 wks was instructed by her doc to stop 3 days later spotting stopped. A complete failure for her.

I bought for mild stress inc (sneezing, jumping etc). Used p4 as suggested but again MAs high from beginning. Cust service revommended P8 so I tried both most nights. 10 wks on I have gone frm mild inc to having 3 pad changes in 1 gym session tonight. I feel my situation has definately declined and am contimplating stopping use. Some basic exercises that previous caused no issues are now causing major leaks.

Ill persivere for now in the hopes I can update this post with more positive news.

    Fantastic Product
    Review by Eileen
The only reason I have not given the Kegel8 Ultra 5 stars is because the accompanying booklet is very very poor. Whoever wrote it needs to take a course in "writing an instruction booklet"! Having said that the kegel8 Ultra works brilliantly. Once having worked out how to use it by means of the online video and trial and error, I have used it every day for six weeks. Within a week I noticed the difference and I am now nearly "leak free". I have stopped taking the medication which was supposed to help with the frequency of me passing urine and I now do not need to use a pad. I shall continue for the full 12 weeks and from then on will use it twice a week to maintain my pelvic floor strength. I had advice from a physiotherapist two years ago who told me not to waste my money on the Kegel8. She could not have been more wrong. I found pelvic floor exercises very hard work and disheartening as I showed very little improvement over a long period of trying. I am only sorry I listened to her and wasted two years when if I had gone with my instinct I would have been where I am now two years ago. The Kegel8 is easy to insert (I bought the Periform + and use that instead of the normal probe), it does not hurt and is very easy to use. To anyone who is hesitating about buying this product I would say it is worth every penny, I feel my life has been turned around. However, I would urge the company to completely re-write the instruction booklet. My husband is a scientist and is fully conversant with instructions, scientific tables etc. and after several tries he gave up on trying to understand the book, it really is baffling. Neither he or I have worked out yet how to implement a personalised programme. We gave up and I use Programme 10 or the full 45 minute workout depending on how much time I have. It is such a pity that a great product like this which will help so many people is let down by the instruction booklet. I have found the Kegel8 is wonderful despite the instruction booklet.

    Revue Reading
    Review by blue eyes
Hi, I read through many revues, no one actually posted if this device would repair the pelvic floor, most posts say it helps?

I have a bladder prolapse, use a vaginal ring pessary to support my bladder, not sure if this product will make it possible, to do away with my support ring.

Anyone had experience and success after using the kegal exerciser, if it is capable of doing that.?

Dear Questioner, thanks for contacting us. A kegel8 would certainly help to stop your prolapse from getting worse, and also from other organs prolapsing too. As you have a bladder prolapse you are more susceptible to a bowel prolapse too, so strengthening is vital. Some users do manage to reverse a prolapse, but usually this is when it is a grade 1 or 2, and it could be possible to dispense with the ring pessary.. Please call our helpline for more information, our new Kegel8 Ultra 20 is out today so this is ideal for you.
    Thank you for your question.

i found the product aesthetically pleasing, comfortable and not as scary as I had thought I would
    Review by nik
I have been thinking about this product for ages but the cost seemed so high, I decided I could not ignore things any longer when I was out running with the dog and even my dark shorts did not help matters, the cost was no longer an issue. I received the product after 1 day. I dreaded the thought of having to use the kegel ultra every day but I am surprised to admit I am enjoying it so far, I have been using it for a week and found the cone shaped probe very comfortable. I like the look of the product and thought the box was discreet and useful as storage. I have been able to increase the MA's from 30-55 but am not sure if I notice much difference yet but then it is early days and the literature suggests things may deteriorate for the first week whilst your pelvic floor is adjusting to being worked so hard. I will just add though that I find the tingling sensation when using the kegel quite a turn on and my interest in sex has definitely been sparked, perhaps this means it's working after just a week after all!

Seems quite effective but still got my fingers crossed
    Review by Di
I bought this about 2 months ago. I have a stage 2 bladder prolapse, it seemed to help me feel a lot more 'normal' within a very short time (using it twice a day on PO2 & PO3), but now I seem to have had a relapse. I feel as if I have something inside me and bending and sitting can be uncomfortable. I have ordered the Probe Periform Plus Multilingual because I couldn't feel the probe that was supplied with the toner on both sides of the vaginal walls. I hope this will give me some more benefits. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

    Good relief for pelvic pain
    Review by AriesRuth
I suffer with pelvic pain and lovemaking is very, very painful. After seeing a Specialist in the US, I have developed a technique to help with the pain. I find if I use the Ultra with skin electrodes on my perineum then it stimulates the muscles, but it also helps them to relax. I use a perineum electrode and for the first time my husband and I have been able to enjoy intimacy on a number of occasions. It eases the pain, and I don't get such intense pain following orgasm.
Kegel8 has been such a relief for me, and I wish more women knew about the benefits.
I am also using this perineal massage together with yoga and deep breathing exercises. Desperate to try anything, there have been no medication that have been able to offer relief (without the groggy, constipation bit) and I wish I had explored other options years ago!.

    Frequently asked questions

Can a Kegel8 Ultra 20 fix my prolapse?

Prolapse is devastating.  The first thing any woman should do is to start doing effective pelvic floor exercises, this is to manage the prolapse, stop it getting worse or dropping down further out of position. E-stim improves the health of the pelvic floor tissues and seems to be effective in counteracting muscle atrophy. Top UK Physio, Amanda Savage has devised a comprehensive 12-week programme for prolapse to build muscle tone to make a thicker support shelf when you are lifting and carrying things.

What’s the difference between this device and me doing the exercises on my own?

Lots – 30% of women do their Kegel exercises incorrectly; some push downwards, which, rather than strengthening can lead to further damage. Featuring a patented ‘Kegel smile’ screen, timed programmes and an internal probe which finds and treats the muscles, this e-stim device is a revolution for your pelvic floor. It automatically exercises the right muscles no matter how weak they are, for the correct length of time. Every time.

I’m just not that technical and yet it feels a bit overwhelming? Is it me?

For 20 years, Kegel8 has pioneered effective ways to treat pelvic floor problems at home. With 12-week programmes, it’s pre-set and ready to go, automatically exercising the correct muscles for 9 different pelvic floor conditions.  The patented screen shows when your muscles contract and relax (work and rest) helping to re-sync your brain and pelvic floor for proven clinical results.

It might sound technical – it is a registered medical device, after all.  But technical ability is not needed - all you need to do is use it, and that is EASY!

My bladder is ruling my life, can this help me.

Absolutely. Do you also restrict the amount of liquids you drink; wear pads for leaks and have frequent changes of clothes too?

So many Kegel8 users will say ‘I wish I had found this sooner!’ They have put up with, in some cases for years - leaks, accidents and embarrassment. Don’t just ‘put up with it’ because 1 in 10 women suffering leaks will go onto have bowel leaks too. Regaining control is so empowering, Kegel8 is with you every step of the way.

I bought another pelvic device, and it didn’t work, why is this one different?

We understand, and for 20 years we have taken the guesswork out of home treatment and learned a thing or two. We like to think we do a great job because we offer a no-quibble 90-day Money Back Guarantee. So, if you’re not stronger, we’ve not done our job!

We also offer a £50 Trade in Service – with £50 off a Kegel8 Ultra 20 v2 – so come to Kegel8 and get strong NOW!

    I had vaginal mesh surgery - can use Kegel8 Ultra 20 V2?

Yes! The Kegel8 Ultra 20 V2 can be used if you have vaginal mesh surgery or mesh for prolapse. Even after surgery, pelvic floor muscles will still need to be exercised and strengthened to prevent other pelvic organs from prolapsing. E-stim improves the health of the pelvic floor tissues and seems to be effective in counteracting muscle atrophy and muscle dysfunction. This is a Class 2a medical device made here in the UK. E-stim is clinically proven to work and it automatically locates and exercises the right muscles for the optimum length of time, without over exercising them.
